L1 / L2 Data Centre Tech (UK)

Job Summary

We are seeking L1 and L2 Data Centre Techs to join our dynamic team in the data centre services industry. This role requires a customer-focused individual with an engineering mindset who is looking progress their career in the data centre industry. The duties for this role include racking and cabling of data centre equipment, installing and commissioning structured cabling solutions, and taking part in general data centre design and build projects. We are hiring for both L1 and L2 positions.

 

Qualifications and Skills

Required:

  • Min. 3 years experience in a similar role.

  • Good understanding of IT infrastructure, including servers, networking, and storage systems.

  • Proficiency in MS Excel 

  • Strong interest in technology and a willingness to learn.

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.

  • Physical ability to lift and move equipment (up to 20kg).

  • Potentially available for on-call rotation and occasional weekend or night shifts.

  • An engineering mindset with strong problem-solving skills.

  • Willingness to travel globally for up to two weeks at a time.

  • Full UK driving license.

  • Team-oriented and collaborative approach to work.

  • Proficient in copper and fibre terminations and testing.

  • World-class cable patching standards.

  • Act as a senior member of the team.

 

Preferred:

  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or equivalent.

  • Familiarity with data centre operations or IT hardware installation.

  • Previous experience in an IT-related role or internship.

  • Background in cabling or related fields.
